At the start of the 12/13 season, Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård became Principal Conductor of BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Principal Guest Conductor of Royal Scottish National Orchestra; a rare honour to hold titled positions with two major British orchestras. He served as Principal Conductor and Musical Adviser of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra from 2009-12.
Plans for this season include debuts at Seattle Symphony, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Luxembourg Philharmonic, as well as returns to Oslo Philharmonic, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Tivoli Festival and numerous exciting projects with BBCNOW and RSNO. He will conduct opera at both Royal Danish Opera (Cunning Little Vixen) and Royal Swedish Opera (Turandot) following his critically-acclaimed debut with Tosca in 2011. Future plans include EUYO Summer Tour and his debut with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
