On the opera stage, Christopher Maltman's recent appearances include the title role of Don Giovanni at the Salzburg Festival, at the Deutsche Staatsoper, Berlin, at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich, and in Cologne; Posa (Don Carlo) for the Netherlands Opera; Papageno, Guglielmo, Marcello, Ramiro, and Forester at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Papageno, Silvio and Harlekin at the Metropolitan Opera, New York. He has also appeared at the Glyndebourne Festival, Vienna State Opera, Opéra National de Paris, the Deutsche Staatsoper, Berlin, Zurich Opera, Oper Frankfurt, and at the opera houses of San Diego, Seattle and San Francisco.
His future engagements include Il Conte at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and in LA with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel; Don Giovanni at the Deutsche Staatsoper, Berlin and in Toulouse; Posa for Frankfurt Opera, and returns to the Bayerischer Staatsoper and the Metropolitan Opera, New York.
In concert, he has appeared with many of the world's leading orchestras with conductors such as Conlon, von Dohnanyi, Harnoncourt, Harding, Masur, Norrington, Otaka and Rattle.
A renowned recitalist, his many engagements have included appearances in Aldeburgh, Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Lisbon, Milan, New York, Salzburg, San Francisco and Vienna. He is a regular guest at the Wigmore Hall and at the Schwarzenberg Schubertiade Festival.
