George Benjamin begins a 6-concert European Tour with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie in a programme of works by Messiaen, Wagner, Berlioz and himself.

Kirill Gerstein will perform Brahms Piano Concerto No.1 with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

Trevor Pinnock gives a solo harpsichord recital at St Mary's Church Walthamstow. His programme includes works by Handel, Purcell and Haydn.

Thomas Zehetmair performs the world premiere of Hans-Christian Bartel's Violin Concerto with the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, conducted by Herbert Blomstedt at the Gewandhaus, Leipzig.

Robert Lloyd sings Act III of 'Manon Lescaut' in the opening night Gala at the Metropolitan Opera, New York.

Sir Simon Rattle conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker in concerts and a recording (for EMI Classics) of Ravel's "L’Enfant et les sortileges". The title role is sung by Magdalena Kozena and the roles of La Théière, Le Petit Vieillard and La Rainette are sung by Jean-Paul Fouchecourt.

Ceri Williams sings the role of Ulrica in Opera 2005's production of 'Ballo in Maschera' in Cork, Ireland.

Robert Murray sings the role of Harry in performances of 'Fanciulla del West' at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He also gives a lunchtime song recital with Cat Beveridge in the Crush Room at the Opera House.

The Belcea Quartet perform all six of Bartok's String Quartets in the Stockholms Konserthuset, Sweden.
