Anita Watson

Anita Watson is a graduate of the Australian Opera Studio, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and was a member of the Cologne Opera Studio (2006-7). Operatic repertory includes Micaëla, Donna Anna, Gretel, Susanna, Cleopatra, Pedro, Serse, Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia) for the Australian Opera Studio, Ann Putnam (The Crucible) for the International Vocal Arts Institute, Barena (Jenůfa) and Edelknabe (Lohengrin) for Cologne Opera. She joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in September 2007 and has sung Flowermaiden (Parsifal), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Voice of Heaven (Don Carlo), Naiad (Ariadne auf Naxos), the title role in Donizetti’s Rita (Linbury Studio Theatre) and Beethoven Symphony no. 9 with Antonio Pappano and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Plans include Dew Fairy (Hänsel und Gretel) and Second Woman (Dido and Aeneas) for the Royal Opera.
