Benjamin Hulett
Since leaving Oxford University, where he was a choral scholar at New College with a degree in music, Benjamin Hulett has worked with many of Britain's leading choirs and orchestras. He is much in demand as an interpreter of music across a wide range of genres and has been hailed by the national press as one of the most promising young tenors of today. Most recently he has appeared in concert with Philippe Herreweghe, Sir Andrew Davis, Sir Roger Norrington, Christopher Hogwood and Harry Bicket. As a soloist with the Hamburgische Staatsoper his roles have included Oronte (Alcina), Flute (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Jaquino (Fidelio), Arbace (Idomeneo) the Almoner (Dialogues des Carmelites), the Four Servants (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) and Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) . He made his debut with the Bavarian State Opera as Oronte (Alcina) and sang Arbace with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi..
This season he sings Tamino and Ferrando in Hamburg and his many concerts include Britten songs with Jeffrey Tate in Turin and Les Illuminations for the Gergiev Festival in Rotterdam.
