Companhia de Dança Deborah Colker is based in Rio de Janeiro and has developed an international reputation as one of the leading contempory dance companies of today. Founded by the choreographer Deborah Colker in 1994, the company has produced a number of outstanding works including Rota (featuring a 22 foot ferris wheel), Casa (based in and around a three-storey house) and 4 por 4 (which incorporates the work of four plastic artists). Deborah Colker's latest workKnot is shown on an extensive UK tour in Spring 2006, managed by Askonas Holt in partnership with the Barbican and Dance Consortium.
For its performances at the London Barbican in 2000, Deborah Colker was awarded London’s most prestigious theatre prize, the Laurence Olivier Award.
