Frans Bruggen

Frans Brüggen is established as a leading expert in the performance of eighteenth and early nineteenth century music. As its founding member, Frans Brüggen continues rigorous touring activity with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, who specialise in the performance of music on period instruments in a wide range of repertoire ecompasses Rameau, Bach, Mozart , Haydn , Beethoven, even Berlioz and Schumann. Now approaching their 80th Tour, this unique ensemble comes together three times each season for touring projects that have taken them to concert halls around the world.

Frans Brüggen is the Chief Conductor of the Radio Kamer Filharmonie in Hilversum; Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and is a regular guest with the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestre de Paris.

Maestro Brüggen's recent work with modern pitch ensembles such as the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala and New Japan Philharmonic has developed into regular collaborations each season.
