Ilse Eerens

Ilse Eerens studied at the New Opera Academy, a joint venture between the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. She has performed in operas from composers such as Purcell, Salieri, Monteverdi, Mozart, and Offenbach Smetana, and is rapidly establishing a strong reputation in the field of song recital, collaborating with Inge Spinette with the songs of Mozart, Schubert, Wolf, Strauss, Debussy, Poulenc, Chausson etc. and the oratorios of Bach, Boccherini, Mozart, and Handel.

In 2003 she was awarded first prize in the Euriade Vocal Contest in Kerkrade and in September 2004 she was the recipient of the Arleen Auger prize in the International Vocal Competition in S-Hertogenbosch, having a special distinction for the finalist who excelled in all the three categories of Opera, Oratorio and Lieder.
