Irina Tchistjakova
Irina Tchistjakova graduated from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow in 1989. In the previous year she also became a principal soloist at the Theatre-Studio of the Gnesin Academy of Music and at the Moscow Municipal Theatre 'New Opera'.
In 2000 she performed 'War and Peace', the Mother in Stravinsky’s 'Mavra', and concerts of 'Alexander Nevsky' with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Daniele Gatti, 'Ivan the Terrible' conducted by Yuri Temirkanov with the Baltimore Symphony and Brahms 'Alto Rhapsody' with the Orchestra Arena di Verona. Irina has recently performed the Hostess in 'Boris Godunov' at the Geneva Opera and at the Bastille. She has also made her debut at the BBC Proms with Leonard Slatkin conducting 'Ivan the Terrible', has sung 'Alexander Nevski' with the Orchestra Santiago, Chile, the 'Verdi Requiem' with the Orchestra Verdi, Milan and the Governess in 'Queen of Spades'at the Saito Kinen Festival in Japan and Larina in 'Eugene Onegin' at the Kennedy Center, Washington DC directed by Leonard Slatkin.
Future engagements include 'Alexander Nevsky' with the VARA Radio and in Rio de Janeiro, 'Ivan the Terrible' with the Orchestra de la Comunidad de Madrid, 'Walpurgis nights' by Mendelssohn with the Orchestra de Pamplona and Larina in 'Eugene Onegin' with the Cincinnati Opera. She will also be recording 'On guard for peace' by Prokofiev with the Royal Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
