Patricia Racette

Now established as a major operatic artist, Patricia Racette's recent opera engagements include Mimi in Chicago, Marguerite for Opera Australia and in Chicago, Jenufa in San Francisco and Houston, Violetta in São Paulo and Tatyana in 'Eugene Onegin' in Santa Fe. She returned to the San Francisco Opera as Liu and Desdemona, to the Metropolitan Opera as Blanche de la Force, to Genoa as Jenufa, to the Paris Opera as Violetta, to the Santa Fe Opera as Katya Kabanova and Simon Boccanegra, and sang Leonora in 'Il Trovatore' in Philadelphia. Recent performances include 'Madama Butterfly' and 'Falstaff' in Houston, 'Jenufa' in Dallas and 'Les Contes d’Hoffmann' and 'La Boheme' at the Metropolitan Opera.

This season Miss Racette sings Madama Butterfly for the first time at the Metropolitan Opera as well as for her debuts at the Bavarian State Opera and at the Teatro Comunale di Firenze. She returns to the Metropolitan Opera for Ellen Orford, to San Francisco for Madama Butterfly and to Los Angeles Opera for La Rondine. She will make her debut with the London Philgharmonic Ocrhestra and Vladimir Jurowski in Korngold’s Das Wunder der Heliane.
