Rodion Pogossov

Widely becoming known for his stage acting and energetic character portrayal, Rodion Pogossov is a young Russian Baritone with a bright future ahead of him, proving to be a sensation over a varied repertoire.

The internationally acclaimed Russian conductor and violinist Vladimir Spivakov is a champion of his, and with whom he works closely, having collaborated with him and the Russian National Symphony Orchestra in 2004, as well as on other occasions.

Rodions recent engagements have included Malatesta in 'Don Pasquale', Harlequin in 'Ariadne auf Naxos' and Papageno in 'Die Zauberflöte' at the Met, Guglielmo in 'Cosi’ fan tutte' with Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Papageno at the Bilbao Opera conducted by Spinosa and a production of 'Eugene Onegin' at the Festival de Lanaudiere conducted by Kent Nagano.

Future engagements will consist of Papageno in 'Zauberflöte' at the Canadian Opera Company, Valentin in 'Faust' at the Bilbao Opera, 'Elisir d'amore' at the Oviedo Opera, 'Der Vampyr' by Marschner at the Teatro Comunale Bologna, 'Barbiere di Siviglia' and Papageno in 'Zauberflote' at the MET.

He has also recently recorded a solo recital disc for the prestigious EMI Debut Series to great acclaim.
