Viktoria Yastrebova
The Russian Soprano was born in Rostov-on-the-Don. After graduating from the Rostov State, she joined the Mariinsky Theatre Academy of Young Singers.
On the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre she performed Iolanta, Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Kupava (The Snow Maiden), Violetta (La Traviata), Polina (The Enchantress), Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Lisa (La Sonnambula), Micaela (Carmen), Poetesse (Viaggio a Reims), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), and Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly).
Viktoria performed Iolanta in a new production in Toulouse and Verdi’s Requiem under the baton of Valery Gergiev in the Mikkeli Festival (Finland).
This season will bring her apart from her performances at the Mariinsky Theatre to the Teatro Municipale Giuseppe Verdi in Salerno where she will be singing Musetta in La Bohème. In 2009 Viktoria will have her Covent Garden debut as Oksana in Cherevichki
