Introduction

A major force in Australian dance, Bangarra Dance Theatre is acclaimed for its unique fusion of contemporary dance and Aboriginal culture. It has thrilled audiences worldwide with its startling and inherently spiritual works of immense theatrical presence. 

Directed by leading choreographer Stephen Page, who is responsible for many of the company's most enduring works, Bangarra celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2009. Its unique repertoire, however, reflects 40,000 years of indigenous settlement in Australia.
