The 2017/18 season at Wiener Staatsoper also features several new productions, including: Prokofiev’s The Gambler (with Linda Watson); Handel’s Ariodante with Sarah Connolly making her house debut in the title role and Pavel Kolgatin as Odoardo; Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila, with Elīna Garanča and Roberto Alagna in the title roles.

Scottish Opera’s 2017/18 season features four new productions, including: Ariadne auf Naxos with Sir Thomas Allen as the Music Master; and Eugene Onegin with Samuel Dale Johnson making his role debut in the title role, Graeme Broadbent as Prince Gremin and James Platt as Zaretsky in his house debut. The season also sees the Scottish premiere of Jonathan Dove’s Flight, with Graeme Broadbent in the role of Immigration Officer, and a revival of Sir David McVicar’s La Traviata starring James Platt as Doctor Grenvil.
The company’s “Sunday Series: Opera in Concert” features performances of Iolanta (with Alexey Dolgov & James Platt), and Aleko & Francesca da Rimini (with Gevorg Hakobyan).
