Nicole Car and Etienne Dupuis star in Opera Australia’s Thaïs

Toi toi toi to Nicole Car and Etienne Dupuis who perform Massenet’s Thaïs this week with Opera Australia. Conducted by Guillaume Tourniaire, Nicole sings the title role and Etienne sings the role of her lover, Athanaël. This marks Nicole’s home-coming to Australia and Etienne’s house debut.

Nicole opens the 17/18 season with a return to the Royal Opera House as Mimi in a new production of La bohème by Richard Jones, conducted by Antonio Pappano, whilst Etienne returns to the Opera de Paris for his role debut as Pelléas in Pelléas et Mélisande.

Nicole’s debut solo album The Kiss (ABC Classics) features a recording of her singing Thais’ aria ‘Dis moi que je suis belle’. Etienne recorded the Athanaël’s duet ‘C’est toi, mon père’ with Sonya Yoncheva on her CD Paris, mon amour.
