  • Rona Eastwood

    Senior Associate Director, Conductors

Rona spent her schooldays in Leicestershire, surrounded by wonderful musical opportunities with great memories of youth orchestra tours round the UK and Europe, followed by a degree in Music and English from Exeter University. On reaching London, she realised she was far better suited to choral singing than viola and joined the first of many choirs and ensembles, with holidays devoted to touring round Europe and Scandinavia, plus forays to Japan and USA. Rona’s first job was the BBC Radio 3 production secretary, thence to the English Bach Festival, where everything from Bach to Rameau to Xenakis to Zarzuela was scheduled on a shoe-string by its indomitable Artistic Director in London, Oxford, Versailles, Athens… Extraordinary. Then a move to Harold Holt, first to the travel department, then six seasons as assistant to Sir Ian Hunter preparing fourteen festivals, sundry concert series and special events. The move across to artist management followed, initially assisting Martin Campbell-White with conductors and occasional touring projects. She has remained with the company ever since, ultimately building an independent list of artists.

Sara began working for Askonas Holt in September 2018 after graduating from King’s College London with a First Class Honours in Music. At university, she had a particular enthusiasm for studying the 18th-century theory of sensibility, writing numerous analyses of keyboard music from the 1700s and essays on the perceived relationship between gender and the senses.

In her spare time, Sara enjoys leading vocal ensembles; as Musical Director of her university’s contemporary a cappella group, she led the group to become two-time national champions, culminating in a performance on Broadway in New York City in April 2018. Sara now works as a professional arranger for a cappella groups in the US, enjoys singing in The Bach Choir in London, and plays piano in her free time.
