This Friday 20th December marks Gergely Madaras’ inaugural concert with the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne as their Chief Conductor and Artistic Director.
Following on from his success with Simon McBurney’s new production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the ENO (his conducting debut with the company) Gergely is ending his 2013 on a high, performing a Christmas concert with his orchestra in Dijon entitled ‘Un Noël hongrois’. The concert programme includes works by Kodaly, Bizet, Haydn and Elgar which is designed to reflect the time he has spent in different cultures and those that have influenced his life: his native Hungary, his new position in Dijon, his studies in Vienna and his current work with the ENO in London.
