A role debut for Ailyn Pérez in Verdi’s Ernani



This Saturday, soprano Ailyn Pérez will make an exciting role debut as Elvira in Verdi’s Ernani at Teatro Alla Scala Milan. The revered Italian theatre will mount a new production by Sven-Eric Bechtolf with sets by Julian Crouch and lighting design by Marco Filibeck. Hungarian conductor Ádám Fischer, the principal conductor of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, conducts a star-studded cast featuring Francesco Meli in the title role, alongside Luca Salsi as Don Carlo, Ildar Abdrazakov as Don Ruy and Daria Chernyi as Giovanna.

This commences a stellar season for Ailyn which will see her return to the Metropolitan Opera for Mimi in La Boheme and Alice Ford in Falstaff, make her role debut as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Houston Grand Opera, a return to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden for Micaëla in Carmen and appearances at the Munich Opera Festival to sing Violetta in La Traviata. Other highlights include high profile concert engagements at the Broad Stage with Plácido Domingo, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Minnesota Orchestra.
