Tonight sees The Myrthen Ensemble – Mary Bevan, Clara Mouriz, Robert Murray, Marcus Farnsworth and Joseph Middleton – make its debut at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam in a recital of solos, duets and quartets by Schumann, Brahms, Debussy and Fauré, to mention just a few. The recital will be broadcast live on radio by Omroep Max. The full programme can be found here.
Following the success of their debut album – Songs to the Moon – released on Signum Records last year, and their Wigmore Hall debut recital last season, The Myrthen Ensemble returns on the 6 May 2017 as part of Wigmore Hall’s ongoing Schubert songs series.
The ensemble will also make its debut in Paris this season on 18 April at the Musée d’Orsay, performing the Songs to the Moon programme as part of an exhibition at the museum – “The Mystical landscapes” – which will explore the symbolism around themes of spirituality, mystical experience, night, cosmos and dream landscapes.
