Originally from Dundee, Scotland, Adam joined Askonas Holt in April 2019 after graduating from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc in Theatre and Performance Studies. For his final degree thesis, Adam researched the effects of fin de siècle Viennese concerns surrounding temporality and transformation within the operas of Richard Strauss. Prior to this, Adam completed an MA(Hons) in English Literature at the University of Dundee, graduating with First Class Honours. Adam also previously interned as a Marketing Assistant with the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival.
Adam has enjoyed many years as a freelance musician within the traditional Scottish music sector, particularly through his relationship with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. Through this charity, Adam has travelled throughout the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand providing music for classes and dances as both an accordionist and pianist, as well as giving workshops and masterclasses to musicians on the nuances of Scottish music.
In his spare time, Adam enjoys cooking, reading, travelling and hearing as much live music as possible.
