Ailyn Pérez & Christianne Stotijn sing in Dvořák’s Requiem for the Dvořák Prague Festival

This week, soprano Ailyn Pérez and mezzo-soprano Christianne Stotijn will sing two performances of Dvořák’s Requiem with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Jakub Hrůša. The concerts will form a central part of the annual Dvořák Prague Festival, and Decca Classics will be producing a recording of the event.

This engagement kicks off a thrilling season for Ailyn which will see her make multiple returns to the Metropolitan Opera in New York (Thais, title role; Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro and Juliette in Roméo et Juliette), make her role debut as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte with the Bayerische Staatsoper and bring her critically-acclaimed Violetta (La Traviata) to the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Opernhaus Zürich.

Following the Dvořák concerts, Christianne will return to the Seattle Symphony Orchestra under Ludovic Morlot, performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 and Berlioz’s La mort de Cléopâtre. Other season highlights include Mahler 2 with the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala under Daniele Gatti, and Thomas AdèsTotentanz with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Czech Philharmonic and the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin with Adès at the baton.
