Alan Oke makes his Polish National Opera debut

British tenor Alan Oke makes his debut this week at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, as Captain Vere in their performances of Britten’s Billy Budd.

Praised all over the world for his versatility and presence on stage, Alan performs this role for the first time at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw, having most recently performed it in Suffolk for Opera North in 2017. This marks the start of a very busy spring and summer for Alan, who performs in the new production of David Lang’s Prisoner of the State at the New York Philharmonic in June before heading to Aix-en-Provence for Kurt Weill’s Rise & Fall of the City of Mahagonny in July.

Billy Budd runs from 12 to 18 April 2019 at Polish National Opera. For more information and tickets, see the Teatr Wielki website.
