Young English conductor Alexander Shelley has had a very exciting couple of months, and last week the BBC broadcast a short profile featuring Alexander working with his orchestra in Nuernberg and talking about the role of a conductor. You can view this here.
Recent engagements with Gothenburg Symphony, Stockholm Philharmonic and the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa have all led to immediate re-invitations and his debut disc for Deutsche Grammophon. Important debuts this month include Houston Symphony in a programme of Elgar and Prokofiev with soloist Hilary Hahn and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Strauss and Sibelius.
