This summer has been action packed for the extremely hard-working Alexander Shelley. In the past few weeks he has been as far afield as Hong Kong and Ottawa, and he now travels to the other side of the world for the best part of a month for tours with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and New Zealand Youth Orchestra.
No stranger to working with youth orchestras, and following his highly successful tour with the Bundesjugendorchester in Germany this May, Alexander will first conduct concerts with the New Zealand Youth Orchestra in Wellington and Auckland on July 18th and 19th respectively. The programme will feature works by Richard Strauss and new commission entitled ‘Synergos’, by their Composer in Residence Sarah Ballard. Click here

The following fortnight will see Alexander tour with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra to five different cities around the country. Marking the 450th birthday of William Shakespeare they celebrate musical works that have been inspired by his genius, such as Korngold’s Much Ado About Nothing
Suite. For the full details and schedule click here
