Alexandre Bloch opens his 2017/18 season this weekend conducting Düsseldorfer Symphoniker in performances of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet Fantasieouvertüre and Violin Concerto with highly acclaimed Russian violinist Alena Baeva, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 4 in The Netherlands at Musis Arnhem and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
Next week, Alexandre opens the orchestra’s Tonhalle Düsseldorf season, conducting Elgar’s Cello Concerto, joined by cellist Doo-Min Kim, and Richard Strauss’ famed tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra.
In the forthcoming 2017/18 season, Alexandre makes debuts with Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestra of the National Centre for Performing Arts Beijing, Musikalische Akademie in Mannheim and returns to Vancouver Symphony, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie and BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He also embarks on a tour to Kuwait with London Symphony Orchestra. Plans with Orchestre National de Lille include performances of Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé ballet, and concerts at the Salle Philharmonique de Liège and Philharmonie de Paris.
