Alexandre Bloch makes his Orchestre de la Suisse Romande debut

French-born Alexandre Bloch makes his debut with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande on 10 January in a special performance for Friends of the Orchestra, joined by renowned soprano soloist Diana Damrau and highly regarded harpist Xavier de Maistre to perform Ginastera’s Concerto for Harp, orchestral excerpts including Ravel’s La Valse and arias from works by Meyerbeer and Rossini. Other debuts for Alexandre this season include debuts with the Orchestra of the National Centre for Performing Arts Beijing and Musikalische Akademie in Mannheim, and return guest conducting visits to Musikkollegium Winterthur, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie and BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Highlights of the Autumn included a tour to Kuwait with the London Symphony Orchestra.
