Alina Ibragimova receives MBE in 2016 New Year Honours List

It was announced today that Alina Ibragimova has been awarded an MBE for her services to music in the 2016 New Year Honours List.

Of the award, Alina said: “I am delighted and privileged to accept this honour, as someone for whom the United Kingdom has become a musical and inspirational home. My career in music couldn’t have happened without the support and generosity of the musical culture of this country. I am thrilled to receive this MBE.”

The recognition comes at the end of a fantastic year for Alina which saw her perform repertoire from the baroque through to a world premiere for audiences in the US, Japan and throughout Europe. She held the Royal Albert Hall in spellbound silence during the BBC Proms season and her recording of the Ysaÿe sonatas was included in Gramophone’s ‘Best of 2015’.
Congratulations Alina, and we wish you continued success throughout 2016!
