Today sees the release of Alisa Weilerstein’s
long awaited solo album on Decca Classics
, entitled ‘Solo.’
The album explores the diverse solo repertoire for the cello from the 20th Century and features the groundbreaking Solo Sonata by Zoltán Kodály as well as works by Osvaldo Noé Golijov, Gaspar Cassadó and Bright Sheng.

This Saturday, Alisa joins the Philharmonia
in Canterbury for the first of three First World War Commemoration concerts. She performs Elgar’s Cello Concerto with proceeding concerts at the Royal Festival Hall, London (12 October) and the Concertgebouw in Bruges (14 October).
