Following her hugely successful solo show in 2014, Alison Balsom returns to the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 12 March this year for a concert showcasing everything the trumpet has to offer. Exploring a huge variety of repertoire and styles, Alison Balsom performs with some of her closest friends in jazz (with trumpet virtuoso Guy Barker), with organ (with renowned organist David Goode), on baroque trumpet (with The Balsom Ensemble) and in duet with Bryn Terfel.
Alison is joined onstage by friends old and new, including pianist Tom Poster and Gabriel Prokofiev for a new commission written for trumpet and electronics called Broken Screens.
Alison says of the event “The Royal Albert Hall is one of the most special places on earth, and it’s a great pleasure to return to a stage that has given me so many great memories. This show will give me a chance to share some of my favourite pieces of music, accompanied by a host of amazing talents – I hope you can join us.”
