Toi toi toi to tenor Andrea Carè who makes his house debut at the Wiener Staatsoper this weekend in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Under conductor Jadar Bignamini and director Josef Gielen, Andrea will reincarnate his signature role of B.F. Pinkerton, a role he has mastered in many houses, including Savonlinna Opera, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Real Madrid, and with the Canadian Opera Company.
This continues a very busy season for Andrea, who has just completed runs of Tosca and Aida with the Finnish National Opera and Royal Swedish Opera. Next, he returns to La Monnaie de Munt in Brussels for La Gioconda under Paolo Carignani and director Olivier Py. The new year sees a return to Royal Swedish Opera for La Bohème and his house debut at Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona under Maestro Guillermo García Calvo and legendary director Pier Luigi Pizzi. He will also return to Teatro la Fenice di Venezia for Turandot under Daniele Callegari.
