This week, soprano Anita Hartig makes her house debut at the Théâtre du Capitole, Toulouse in Verdi’s La Traviata. Toulouse mounts a new production by French director Pierre Rambert with Greek conductor George Petrou leading from the pit. Playing opposite Anita’s ill-fated Violetta is Ariam Hernández in the role of Alfredo Germont with Nicola Alaimo playing his father.
This continues a spectacular season for Anita which began with a return to the Wiener Staatsoper for Micaëla’s Carmen. Upcoming highlights include Amelia Grimaldi in Calixto Bieito’s new production of Simon Boccanegra for the Opéra de Paris, performances of Bruckner’s Mass in F Minor with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, a return to the Metropolitan Opera for Violetta and her eagerly-awaited San Francisco Opera debut as Micaëla.
La Traviata plays in Toulouse from 26 September to 7 October. Further information can be found here.
