Anna Caterina Antonacci makes her Enescu Festival debut

Anna Caterina Antonacci performs Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège this weekend at Bucharest’s famous Enescu Festival under Tiberiu Soare. Anna Caterina made her critically acclaimed debut at the festival just last week in a performance of Iphigénie en Tauride alongside AH artists Christopher Maltman and Toby Spence.

This marks the beginning of an exciting 2019/20 season for Anna Caterina, who goes to Bari next to perform La Voix Humaine at the Teatro Petruzzelli. She travels to Château de Compiègne for a recital with long-time collaborator Donald Sulzen.

In the new year, Anna Caterina returns to the Concertgebouw as Jacosta in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex. Later, she returns to NYC Opera and debuts at Boston’s Odyssey Opera in concert performances of Britten’s Gloriana. Anna Caterina returns to the role of Elizabeth I, having first performed it at Teatro Real Madrid in David McVicar’s 2018 production, which was described by one critic as ‘one of the most immaculate interpretations [he had] seen in years‘.

The performance will take place this Saturday at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest. For tickets and further information, please visit the website.
