This week, Soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci will perform Berlioz’s La Damnation de Faust with period-instrument ensemble Les Siècles at both the Brucknerfest in Linz and the Beethovenfest in Bonn. In the role of Marguerite under esteemed conductor François Xavier-Roth, the performances will take place on the 20 and 22 September.
Soon after, Anna Caterina will make her Wiener Staatsoper house debut as Cassandre in another of Berlioz’s works, Les Troyens under director David McVicar, with whom Anna Caterina works regularly. The production features several other Askonas Holt artists: Joyce Didonato, Adam Plachetka, and Jongmin Park.
Engagements this season and beyond include La Voix Humaine on tour of the Circuito Lombardia; Chants d’Auvergne with Enrique Mazzola and the London Philharmonic at Royal Festival Hall; and the title role in Médée at Grand Théâtre de Genève directed by David McVicar and conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón. She will continue to give recitals in major venues across the world with her close collaborator, pianist Donald Sulzen.
