Thursday 15 November marks the opening of Italian soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci’s tour of the Circuito Lombardo with I Pomeriggi Musicali, under the musical direction of Francesco Cilluffo. Visiting Pavia, Como, Bolzano (where the Haydn Orchestra will step in for two performances), Cremona, and Brescia, Anna Caterina will give a total of 10 performances of Poulenc’ masterpiece La Voix Humaine. No stranger to the repertoire, Anna Caterina has performed it around the world, notably, at San Francisco Opera, Opera San Antonio, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Opéra-Comique, and Theatre de la Ville de Luxembourg, to critical acclaim, and continues to tour it internationally.
This continues a busy season, which has seen Anna Caterina return to the role of Cassandra in David McVicar’s Les Troyens in her Wiener Staatsoper debut, performances of La Damnation de Faust with Les Siècles and Francois Xavier-Roth in Paris, Bonn, Linz, and Chants d’Auvergne with Enrique Mazzola and the London Philharmonic in Royal Festival Hall. This season, she takes on McVicar’s Médée at the Grande Théâtre de Genève and continues to perform recitals around the world with her long-time accompanist and collaborator Donald Sulzen.
