Over the past two months, we have announced a number of exciting new signings. We are really looking forward to what 2016 will bring for these, and all our other artists.
A recent graduate of the Royal College of Music International Opera School, young British tenor David Webb joins the Harewood Artist Programme at the English National Opera this season. Highlights in his 2015/16 season includes the roles of High Priest, Abner, Amalekite & Doeg in Barrie Kosky’s acclaimed production of Handel’s ‘Saul’ for Glyndebourne on Tour and the Young Sailor in Daniel Kramer’s new production of ‘Tristan und Isolde’ for the English National Opera.

Romanian soprano Anita Hartig began her 15/16 season with a successful return to Covent Garden as Susanna in ‘Le nozze di Figaro’. This season she will also sing Mimi for Wiener Staatsoper and Dresden Semperoper, returns to the Met to sing Liu in ‘Turandot’ and Susanna in ‘Le nozze di Figaro’, and sings Liu in ‘Turandot’ in a new production at Wiener Staatsoper and Marguerite in ‘Faust’ for Theatre du Capitole, Toulouse.

French tenor Benjamin Bernheim has quickly emerged as an artist to watch, and has been heralded as “a revelation” with a distinctive voice that is “flawless and pure, ranging from delicate pianissimo to heroic fortissimo as required” (Opera News). Following his successes as member of the ensemble and as a resident artist at Opernhaus Zurich, Benjamin is now making impressive débuts at renowned venues across Europe, including Opernhaus Zürich, Semperoper Dresden, Opéra National de Paris and Teatro alla Scala.
