Askonas Holt – Managing the Next Generation of Great Opera Singers

Six of Askonas Holt’s singers have been singled out in ’40 under 40′ by WQXR, New York’s Classical Music Radio Station, as being among the Next Generation of Great Opera Singers. Fred Plotkin’s article for the station’s website names 40 gifted international opera singers, all of them under the age of 40, who are considered to be among the brightest stars of tomorrow.
Among them is husband and wife couple tenor Stephen Costello and soprano Ailyn Pérez, who have recently won acclaim for their performances together as Violetta and Alfredo at Covent Garden and whose duo recording ‘Love Duets’ has recently been released on Warner Classics; Bass-Baritone Luca Pisaroni who sings Leporello at the Salzburg Festival this summer; soprano Latonia Moore who returns to the Metropolitan Opera next season in the title role of ‘Aida’; soprano Lucy Crowe who returns to Covent Garden next season as Adina and mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca who next season stars as Carmen at both the Metropolitan Opera and La Scala.
