Askonas Holt welcomes Rodolfo Barráez to its roster for general management.
The Venezuelan-born conductor won First Prize at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México International Conducting Competition in 2018 and Second Prize at the Inaugural Siemens-Hallé International Conductor Competition in 2020 – the latter resulting in an invitation to conduct The Hallé in Manchester. Forthcoming highlights elsewhere include dates with Madrid’s RTVE Symphony, Simón Bolívar Symphony, Minería Symphony, Bogotá Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico.
A graduate of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Rodolfo is based in Berlin and will assist Jonathan Nott on a tour of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie in March. As a violinist he has performed under Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado and Gustavo Dudamel. Rodolfo is the Founder of the Falcón Conducting Workshop – an organisation inspired by his own education experience with El Sistema where he was mentored by Teresa Hernández and José Abreu.
He will be managed at Askonas Holt by Jessica Wadey.
Watch Rodolfo conduct the Hallé in excerpts from Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor during the Siemens Halle International Conductors Competition.
