Askonas Holt is delighted to announce the worldwide management of Belarusian tenor Pavel Petrov, First Prize winner of Operalia 2018. Pavel is also the recipient of the Don Placido Domingo Ferrer Prize of Zarzuela at Operalia and finalist of the Belvedere and Queen Sonja International Music competitions.
Currently a member of the ensemble at Oper Graz, Pavel will sing his role debuts as Narraboth Salome, Edgardo Lucia di Lammermoor, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni and Nadir Pearl Fishers in the coming seasons. Prior to his move to Graz, Pavel was a member of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus and, during the 2015/16 season, was a member of the International Opera Studio of Zürich Opera House.
Notable engagements elsewhere have included Pong Turandot for his house debut at the Royal Opera House; his debut at the Salzburg Festival as Chaplitsky Pique Dame; Alfredo and Lensky for Bucharest National Opera; and Alfredo for the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
Pavel’s forthcoming guest appearances include Ferrando Cosi fan tutte for Opera Australia; Prunier and Alfredo for Latvian National Opera; Alfredo for the Arena di Verona; and Lensky for Stadttheater Klagenfurt.
