Carolin Widmann is honoured to be Artist in Residence at the Alte Oper, Frankfurt, 12 – 16 November. She gives three contemporary solo recitals with pianist Florent Boffard at the Museum for Modern Art, a “playing walkabout” through the galleries playing pieces inspired by the artwork. Miss Widmann then joins her regular musical partners Alexander Lonquich and Marie-Elisabeth Hecker for a trio concerto of Schubert, Brahms and Beethoven. The residency finishes with a flourish as she play / directs the Akademie für Alte Musik playing baroque violin concerti on gut strings. All in all, this is a superb showcase for this wonderfully versatile artist’s many musical personalities.
