On Friday evening, Cédric Tiberghien performed in the world premiere of a new music theatre piece, Zauberland, at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris. Zauberland features Schumann’s Dichterliebe, alongside 16 newly-composed songs by Bernard Foccroulle with text by British playwright Martin Crimp. The production is directed Katie Mitchell, and Cédric is joined on stage by the American soprano Julia Bullock, and actors Ben Clifford, Natasha Kafka, David Rawlins and Raphael Zari.
Zauberland runs in Paris until the 14 April, with future performances planned across Europe and North America in upcoming seasons. Tickets and more information can be found here.
Earlier this season, Cédric made his debuts with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the San Francisco Symphony, and has played solo recitals in London, Chicago and Tokyo.
