Conductor Christian Vásquez returns to Japan to lead Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in their popular Christmas Beethoven 9 series, giving three performances on the 21, 22 and 24 December. His last visit to Tokyo was with the TPO in 2013, when he closed their season with a bright Latin-American programme.
This time the programme opens with Fuga Criolla composed by Venezuelan composer Juan Bautista Plaza. The concerts then conclude with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, which Vásquez performed with Stavanger Orchestra to open their 2018/19 season.
