We are delighted to announce the general management of the German soprano Christiane Karg.
Born in Feuchtwangen, Bavaria, Christiane Karg studied singing at the Salzburg Mozarteum and at the Music Conservatory in Verona. She is a member of the ensemble of the Frankfurt Opera where her roles include Susanna, Musetta, Pamina, Servilia, Pamina, Zdenka (Arabella), and the title role of La Calisto.
In 2006 she made an auspicious debut at the Salzburg Festival and has since returned to sing Amor Orfeo ed Euridice with Riccardo Muti and Zerlina Don Giovanni with Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
She has sung at the Bayerische Staatsoper (Ighino Palestrina), the Komische Oper Berlin (Musetta La bohème and Norina Don Pasquale), Opera de Lille (Anne Trulove The Rake’s Progress), and is a regular guest at the Theater an der Wien where she has sung Ismene Mitridate and Telaire Castor&Pollux.
Highlights of the coming 2012/13 season include her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival, returns to the Theater an der Wien and Frankfurt Opera, concerts at the Mostly Mozart Festival, New York with Yannick Nézet-Séguin (Haydn Nelson Mass) and at the Salzburg Easter Festival with Christian Thielemann and the Dresden Staatskapelle (Brahms Requiem), and recitals at the Schwarzenberg Schubertiade, Salzburg Mozarteum and Wigmore Hall.
