Christopher Maltman makes his debut as Wotan in Seoul

Christopher Maltman takes on a number of new roles this season, beginning with Wotan, which he sings this Friday with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform Das Rheingold in what will be their first ever Ring Cycle opera. Maestro Myung-Whun Chung leads the premier performance which features a stellar cast of Askonas Holt singers including Michelle DeYoung (Fricka), Catherine Wyn-Rogers (Erda), Malin Christensson (Woglinde and Freia), Yuri Vorobiev (Fasolt) and Alexander Tsymbalyuk (Fafner). 
Christopher’s season of role debuts continues at Los Angeles Opera, where he will sing Beaumarchais in John Corigliano’s The Ghost of Versailles; he then travels to Stockholm to perform with Daniel Harding and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, singing Golaud in Pelléas et Mélisande.  In May, Chris makes a return to Frankfurt Opera, where he will perform the title role in Simon Boccanegra
