The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra have announced their 2018/19 season.
The season begins with Music Director Louis Langrée conducting an all-French gala evening at the recently renovated Cincinnati Music Hall. Other highlights of the season include the return of Joshua Bell for the opening of the subscription series, and Yevgeny Sudbin making his CSO debut with Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. This season also includes the second year of a three-year Beethoven symphony cycle, including massed Cincinnati choirs for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, and a new critical edition performance of Gershwin’s An American in Paris, premiered with the CSO in La Seine Musicale in 2017. Jonathan Bailey Holland is Composer-in-Residence for the 2018/19 season, and the CSO will perform a world premiere commission written in response to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
