Askonas Holt is delighted to welcome French conductor Emmanuel Villaume to its roster for worldwide opera management.
Emmanuel is currently Music Director of The Dallas Opera, where he recently conducted The Golden Cockerel, Die Zauberflöte, Manon Lescaut and Der fliegende Holländer. He has been MD in Dallas since 2013, having previously held the same post at the Spoleto Festival.
Emmanuel is a regular guest conductor at the world’s major opera houses, including The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Opéra de Paris, Teatro Regio di Torino and Teatro Real Madrid. Next season sees him return to The Met for Cendrillon, to La Monnaie for Carmen and to Deutsche Oper Berlin for Les contes d’Hoffmann.
In 2015 he was appointed Music Director and Chief Conductor of Prague Philharmonia, and recent projects have included concerts and recordings with Anna Netrebko, Angela Gheorghiu and Bryan Hymel. Elsewhere he has conducted the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, NHK Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Emmanuel Villaume will be managed by Mark Hildrew, Jo Fry and Jessica Wadey.
