Diapason d’Or for Alina Ibragimova & Cédric Tiberghien

Congratulations to Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien who have received a Diapason d’Or award in the April edition of Diapason for their latest duo recording. The Hyperion disc features works by Louis Vierne, César Franck, Eugène Ysaÿe and Lili Boulanger. Since it was released at the beginning of March 2019, the disc has been awarded recording of the week by Presto Classical, has been selected as one of the finest recordings of the month in Gramophone magazine, and was the CD of the week on BBC Radio 3’s Record Review. The Times said:

“Listen to the slow movement of the surprising sonata by the organ specialist Louis Vierne, where Tiberghien’s aqueous flow so gracefully supports Ibragimova’s long-legged, lazy song. Neither treads on the other’s toes; equally true when they’re driving the music hard and fast, as in Vierne’s opening allegro or the much more familiar sonata by César Franck… What a pleasure dome this album is.”
