Opera director Yuval Sharon brings Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde to the stage for performances at LA’s Walt Disney Concert Hall this week.
Staged in conjunction with TEATROCINEMA, a Chilean theatre company known for merging live performance with video effects, Gustavo Dudamel conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra on 5, 6 and 7 April. Tenor Russell Thomas will be joining mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford on stage. There will be a further performance on Sunday 8 April, of the music only. More information here.
Yuval is currently an Artist-Collaborator with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. As part of his three-year residency, projects include newly commissioned works, site-specific installations, and performances outside the hall. Earlier this season, he directed the world premiere of Annie Gosfield’s War of the Worlds, performed both inside and outside the concert hall simultaneously.
