Toi toi toi to tenor Dmytro Popov who makes his return to the Teatro Regio Torino this week as Alfredo Germont in a revival of Henning Brockhaus’ production of La traviata under maestro Donato Renzetti. Dmytro has previously performed this role at the Wiener Staatsoper, Opernhaus Zurich, and National Theatre Prague.
Continuing a busy season, he next travels to the Hamburgische Staatsoper to perform Verdi’s Requiem under Paolo Arrivabeni, followed by Un ballo in Maschera at the Bolshoi Theater, Moscow. He will then perform Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Andris Nelsons, followed by Tosca at the Dresden Semperoper, and Iolanta at Paris’ Opera Garnier in Dmitri Tcherniakov’s production.
Engagements this season and beyond include Rusalka with Oper Köln, La bohème at Teatro Nacional de Sao Carlos, Carmen at the Deutsche Oper, Madama Butterfly with Opéra de Paris, and further performances at the Metropolitan Opera, Opernhaus Zurich, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Dutch National Opera, Baden Baden, and Royal Opera House.
