Dorothea Röschmann receives ‘Berliner Kammersängerin’ award

Many congratulations to Dorothea Röschmann, who yesterday received the honorary title “Berliner Kammersängerin”. She was presented the prestigious title by the State’s secretary of Culture, Tim Renner, who spoke following her performance as Agathe in ‘Der Freischütz’ at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin. 
From 1994 to 2000 Dorothea was a member of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin. She continues to have a strong presence in the house, her roles including Ännchen with Zubin Mehta; Nannetta with Abbado; Eva, Elsa, Pamina, Fiordiligi, Susanna, Zerlina, Micäela, Donna Elvira, the Countess with Daniel Barenboim, and Marschallin / ‘Der Rosenkavalier’ with Sir Simon Rattle
The honorary title has been awarded by the Senate since 1962 to singers who have made outstanding artistic contributions to Berlin’s cultural landscape.
