Dovlet Nurgeldiyev steps in to make his Münchner Philharmoniker debut

Dovlet Nurgeldiyev steps in this week to sing Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with the Münchner Philharmoniker on the 12, 13 and 15 April. Marking Dovlet’s Munich Phil debut, Manfred Honeck conducts, with soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, contralto Wiebke Lehmkuhl and bass Christof Fischesser completing the quartet of soloists. The three performances will take place at the Philharmonie am Gasteig.

The Turkmen tenor has been an ensemble member of Staatsoper Hamburg since 2010, singing a host of major roles including Lensky Eugene Onegin, Tamino Die Zauberflöte and Alfredo La traviata. Having made his first appearance in Munich singing Alfredo at the Bayerisches Staatsoper in 2016, he returns again this season, making his role debut as Medoro Orlando Paladino. He also makes his debut with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in Verdi’s Requiem, and his role debut as Telemaco Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria in  Hamburg.
